Through this project, a student will gain access to project-based robotics learning, providing 21st century skills that are the foundation of a successful, college- and career-ready student. Funding will provide two robotics kits to an under-resourced classroom, providing opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) learning for up to 10 students.
Project-based learning is the pathway to successful STEM education, but for many classrooms, the resources are simply not available due to limited or no funding support from the district. This microproject will allow a student to access high-quality STEM education through hands-on robotics kits. Funds from this project will purchase two robotics kits, which will serve up to 10 students.
By providing access to robotics learning, this project will give a student the opportunity to develop skills in programming, electronics, mechanical engineering, and software design while also providing integral career experience in teamwork and leadership, critical thinking, and results analysis.
This project will cultivate the skills and experiences necessary for a college- and career-ready student who is possesses the foundation to enter STEM disciplines. The content knowledge and critical thinking provided through this type of learning will allow students to be capable and confident in the 21st century.
