While our GG microproject Ride Strong only resulted in $25 in donations we couldn't be happier to add $5000 to that amount from the Alaska Community Foundation's Teen Suicide Prevention grant the check will be in the mail in the next 30 days. All funds will be spent May-July 2017 to make this an incredible summer for skateboarding, biking and riding scooters. Three events scheduled for North Pole, Fairbanks and here at Joel's Place will give the ride team the ability to reach the riders with a message of Hope, Help and Strength. #RideStrong
The skateboarders in Fairbanks have formed the Fairbanks Skatepark Coalition and recieved the Spirit of Youth award with a check for $250. This allows them to open a checking account with the goal of raising 1.2 million over the next year for the John Weaver Memorial Skatepark Renovation! We couldn't be more proud of their accomplishments. This partnership of riders of all ages is creating a movement that will impact the lives of thousands!
Look for our newest project to add a Pump Track here at Joel's Place. It will also be able to be moved to locations for events around the community. Thanks again for giving. Every donation is multiplied by the hard work of volunteers and has a positive impact!
