This project will help with the remodeling of the kitchen in our department will help optimize spaces, maintain hygiene, provide higher quality food, and have a dignified, safe and welcoming space for the children of the community so that they can be fed every day
Our kitchen area is in a pretty noticeable state of disrepair. Every day, we receive more than 100 children whom we feed with their school breakfast and lunch. The facility is in need of a paint change. Some culinary utensils are old and outdated. The walls are on the decline and some of the cabinets where we store food need to be replaced
Our goal with the project is mainly to reinforce the walls of the kitchen so that the area is safe. We will replace cabinets that are old with new and in better condition. We will purchase new utensils to prepare and serve the food. And we'll paint the walls to make them presentable
The benefits of our feeding & scholarship programs are already being seen. This past year, three youth from the program began studying at universities on scholarships. This would not have been possible without the care we were able to provide for these individuals. As the program continues, and the children grow, we expect to see more children graduating and moving on to become college educated. This will stop the cycle of poverty and provide a different life trajectory for the next generation.
