CHAT needs to outfit our new but very empty warehouse with shelving, wall storage units, and sorting tables in order to make the warehouse a functional space for storing, sorting and distributing furniture, household goods, and food to our clients, as they move from homelessness into housing.
CHAT can't wait to stock our huge new warehouse with truckloads of donated food items and furniture items and household goods. However, this warehouse lacks shelving, cabinets or tables which we need for our food team to sort and deliver food boxes to about 55 houses every Saturday. Also, most homeless people have virtually no furniture or household goods when they finally obtain housing, so they need everything from lamps cutting boards to couches and we need to be able to organize those.
Our goal with this campaign is to be able to outfit this terrific new warehouse space with shelves, tables and wall storage units sufficient to organize, store and sort our food donations and household goods, for efficient distribution to our newly housed clients.
This funding will enable formerly homeless individuals and families to get established in housing, and ensure that they have the furniture, housewares and food items needed to make their new house a real home. Our goal is that none of our clients ever return to homelessness.
