UBECI September Report

By UBECI | Volunteer Team

¡Hola!

We are happy to express our gratitude for your support for United to Benefit Ecuadorian Children, International (UBECI). Your support is repeatedly playing a key role in our success with “Reduce Work Hours for Ecuador’s Street Children” project. With your help we are supporting over 600 street children in outdoor markets throughout Quito.

We are pleased to inform you that during the last few months we have demonstrated successful results on delivering “Play, Do, and Learn” workshops with an objective to raise awareness among parents of children and adolescents about the importance of education, hygiene and physical health, improved socio affective, cognitive and motor skills. During the last few months UBECI staff and volunteers continued traveling to 4 of Quito’s major markets to provide children working at the market with an educational break from working in the market. We are thrilled to share that we have added 96 new children to our “Play, Do, and Learn” activities who have successfully received the same benefits as the occasional, regular and permanent children already being supported by the program. This result reflects that the message promoted by UBECI is welcomed within the population it serves, the families trust the work we do as a team, and we are extremely happy to have you as part of the team!

The workshops and activities carried out by UBECI in the markets are planned and structured according to a certain focus, since our report in June we are focusing on the following areas:

  • July - August: SUMMER PROGRAM
  • September - October: Leadership & Self-Esteem
  • November - December: Gender & Prevention

As part of the mission UBECI staff and volunteers have been continuously working on gaining more international support to fund our regular campaigns such asDental, Medical, Christmas Party and Gifts, School Supplies, we do require sufficient funding to increase our success with these campaigns. We are regularly reaching out to international organisations and promoting UBECI’s mission to increase the positive impact.

Gracias,

The UBECI Team
