Project Status (Final)
Current Situation
In rural Butebo, Uganda, poor Muslim families faced Ramadan food insecurity as prices rose and rural access made affordable staples harder to find. Many households struggled to provide suhoor and iftar, forcing parents to skip meals and leaving children and the elderly vulnerable to hunger, weakness, and nutrition-related illness during the holy month.

Closing Note & Donor Direction
Because Ramadan has ended and this was a time-sensitive microproject, we are closing this campaign.
To ensure your generosity still reaches families and orphans facing ongoing hunger, we are directing supporters to our main GlobalGiving project:
Use of Funds Raised
Although this microproject did not reach its funding goal, the $50 raised will be applied to our main project, Feed 350 Vulnerable Ugandan Families & Orphans! (Project #66950), where it can contribute to ongoing, higher-impact food assistance.
Long-Term Impact (Why This Still Matters)
When households are protected from extreme hunger, children and elderly family members are less likely to suffer weakness and nutrition-related illness, and parents avoid harmful coping strategies like skipping meals or taking on debt. Consistent support also strengthens trust and cooperation within the local Muslim community, creating a reliable pathway for future seasonal assistance and broader poverty-relief programs in Butebo.
Looking Forward
We remain committed to delivering dignified, practical food assistance that protects health and preserves family stability. We will continue strengthening our outreach and funding approach so future Ramadan microprojects can reach full scale and serve more families during time-sensitive seasons.
