Project Status (Final)
Current Situation
In Egypt, rising food prices and unstable household income made Ramadan especially difficult for poor families who rely on consistent daily meals for iftar and suhoor. Many households could not afford enough staple foods, forcing parents to reduce their own meals so children could eat, and leaving children and the elderly more vulnerable to hunger and nutrition-related health risks. The need was urgent and time-sensitive because Ramadan requires reliable food every day.
Key Challenges
Activities & Readiness (What This Microproject Was Designed to Deliver)
This microproject was designed to raise funds to prepare and deliver 200 Ramadan food boxes to the most vulnerable families in Egypt.
Implementation approach:
Closing Note & Donor Direction
Because Ramadan has ended and this was a time-sensitive microproject, we are closing this campaign.
To ensure your generosity still reaches families facing ongoing food insecurity in Egypt, we are directing supporters to our main GlobalGiving project:
Use of Funds Raised
Although this microproject did not reach its funding goal, the $187 raised will be applied to our main project, Feed 100 Struggling Egyptian Families! (Project #66848), where it can contribute to ongoing, higher-impact food assistance.
Long-Term Impact (Why This Still Matters)
When households receive reliable food support, they are less likely to take on debt, skip meals, or cut other essentials. Children and the elderly face fewer nutrition-related health risks, and families can preserve dignity and stability during periods of economic pressure. Continued distributions also strengthen trust and community relationships, creating a stronger foundation for future poverty-relief programs in Egypt.
Looking Forward
We remain committed to delivering dignified, practical food assistance that protects health and reduces suffering. We will continue strengthening our outreach and funding approach so future Ramadan microprojects can reach full scale and serve more families during time-sensitive seasons.

Start a FundraiserEvery microproject is intended to use the donations it receives in accordance with its stated description; however, it is important to provide project leaders with the flexibility to maximize the potential benefit from the donations they receive. This means that your donation may be used as a part of the main project that supports this microproject, specifically Save 50 Poor Egyptian Widows from Debt Prison. In this event, the project leader is required to post an update to the microproject detailing the results and reasons behind this change.
If you or any other donor is unhappy with the way their funds have been used, he or she can reallocate their donation using the GlobalGiving guarantee.
