At the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) Baltimore, our mission is to provide unique entrepreneurship programs that inspire young people from low-income communities to stay in school, recognize business opportunities, and plan for successful countries. Our educations package provides students with the experience of creating a business plan, and vests students with social, mathematical, and literary skills to actualize that business, with seed capital provided by NFTE Baltimore grants.
Many students who are able to participate in the NFTE Baltimore Entrepreneurship Program lack essential resources that are necessary to fully execute their business plans. NFTE Baltimore seeks to provide seed capital to those students to help them execute their projects.
These funds will provide grants to qualified NFTE Baltimore students that have competed in a classroom or final round competition, and have been judged to hold an innovative and feasible business. Funds will be distributed as follows: The top three finalists in each classroom competition will receive $100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third. The top six entrepreneurs that advance to the final round will receive: $1,000 for first place, $750 for second, and $500 for third.
By working to keep at-risk students engaged in their school work, NFTE spurs its participants to graduate high school and dare to dream of a brighter future. Whether they pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or start their own business, NFTE instills an entrepreneurial mindset in young people so they can plan for success. Since 1987 NFTE has worked with almost 500,000 students across the U.S. and around the world.
