Provide Nolson a year of food

A microproject by International Disaster Volunteers (IDV)
Provide Nolson a year of food

Summary

This project will provide a year of nutritious food for Nolson. Nolson's dad died in the 2010 earthquake, leaving his mom to look after ten children. She couldn't provide for them, so she abandoned Nolson and two of his brothers at the HTDC orphanage. But the orphanage also struggles to feed Nolson and without nutritious meals to keep him growing, Nolson's future will be bleak.

Challenge

As an orphan, Nolson is among the most vulnerable of Haitian children. There isn't an effective nationwide child protection service operating in Haiti to provide for his basic needs. This means that, without your help, Nolson will have to go without nutritious meals, leaving him more vulnerable to illness and less healthy.

Solution

By donating today, you'll help us provide the food Nolson needs to stay healthy. Donations to this project will cover Nolson's share of the food costs over a year, but will be spent on all the children in parallel as we fundraise for each in turn.

Long-Term Impact

A healthy, balanced diet prevents illness and promotes healthy growth. By providing the nutritious food Nolson needs, you're preventing illness and helping him grow up strong!
