This project provides food items, to help poor families in Anambra State to feed. Food is one of the basic needs of a man, taken to provide energy, maintain life and stimulate growth. Nigeria is known as the poverty capital of the world, with about 90 million of it's population living below poverty line. There's an increase in the prices of goods and services, which affects the poor. Having enough food to eat, will help these families to avoid many health problems and maintain a healthy life.
About 40% (83 million) of the people who are living in Nigeria, are living in poverty and it is estimated that this will increase to 45% (90 million) in 2022, as the country is experiencing economic hardship leading to increase in food prices. The recent flooding which hit Anambra State and other states in Nigeria, destroying lives and properties plus farms, led to increase in food prices, making it very difficult for the poor families to feed, hence the need to provide them with food items.
With the funds that would be raised through this microproject, we'll continue to provide food items for the poor families in Anambra State, in order to help them to continue feeding properly, be healthy and avoid some health problems that are associated with poor feeding
As food is one of the basic needs of a man, having enough to eat will surely protect the members of these families from starvation, thus help them to continue leading a healthy life.
