The LA Corps seeks to decrease the rate of citations and legal fees associated with driving without a license and increase the number of licensed 18-24 year old adults. A driver's license is required for most employment opportunities. Help us provide driver's education and behind the wheel training to young men and women who need support in overcoming barriers to employment.
The LA Corps seeks to increase the number of 18-24 year olds licensed to drive in California. A driver's license is required for most employment opportunities. Help us provide driver's education and behind the wheel training to young men and women who need support in overcoming barriers to employment. The rate of citations and legal fees for driving without a license will decrease for young adults participating in this program.
Passing a driving exam is a resource intensive process. Your support provides funding to maintain the 30hour online Driver's education program and fund behind the wheel lessons for ten participants. The LA Corps partners with A1 Safe Driving School. Participants complete online training and receive a personal driving instructor. A car is provided for the driving exam to ensure participants confidently pass the exam. With a license they are now eligible to apply for more employment opportunities.
The LA Corps Transition program serves over 100 young men and women per year, directly decreasing the high rates of unemployment among young adults 18-24 years old and creating economic prosperity and stability that benefits present and future generations. Direct employment search and career support provides hope for participants and their families. Our projects goal is to increase employment and education opportunities and contribute to the economic advancement of young adults living in LA.
