Dear Friends,
Thank you again for your donation, which has allowed one girl the chance to attend school. The scholarships have now been awarded. The girl who received this scholarship is called Tahera and she is 9 years old and in 3rd class at a private school in Herat Province. Her father has a job as a farmer but without this scholarship there would be no way for her family to afford to send her to school. You can see Tahera in the photographs above along with other scholarship students.
The staff person who gave out the awards said, “the students who receive scholarships are all from poor families. Many have lost one or both parents and need to do some work part time to help their families. When they heard they had been given a scholarship they were so happy they became teary eyed. This is what one student said, “I have two sisters, my father is a drug addict and my mother goes to a neighbor to do washing and cleaning. I was not able to pay for tuition or stationary. Thank you for this great opportunity; it has changed my life.”
Thank you again for your generous donation; your donation has helped to change the course of Tahera’s life.
Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for your support of our efforts to give young Afghans access to high quality education.
We are grateful for the support we have received for our projects funding scholarships for K-12 students. In addition, we have been able to provide support to 8 university students in Kabul and 15 university students in Herat. The 23 students include 7 young men and 16 young women. These students are pursuing a variety of majors including Law & Political Science, Dentistry, Dari & English Literature, Economy & Management, Radiology, Religion, Mining & Geology, History, Nursing and Computer Science. These students are some of the top students in their classes and are part of the generation of smart, well- educated young people who will make Afghanistan a better place for all.
We often hear stories of students who start the journey of education and become inspired to learn more and aspire to a university education. Typical comments include, “My math skills were poor before I came here, now I am good and want to go to university.” Or “I did not think I could learn, but now I am interested and want to go on learning more.”
The 23 students you have supported are excited to have the opportunity to earn university degrees. Thank you again for your support of our efforts to make quality education a reality for Afghan students.
Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for your generous support!! The school year is currently in session in Afghanistan, and Creating Hope International is working with our Afghan partners to select a deserving student to receive the scholarship you helped to fund for this school. We will update you as soon as we can with information about the student who receives this scholarship.
Again, thank you for your kind donation. This scholarship will allow one poor student to receive an education that they wouldn’t otherwise have access to. Your donation will help to change the course of one young Afghan’s life. Thank you.
