Dear Friends,
The school year in Afghanistan started in April and as promised, we’re writing to update you on the student who received the scholarship that you helped to fund! A young boy named Sajad is attending a private school in Herat Province, thanks to your generosity.
Sajad is 15 years old and in 8th grade. His father is employed as a driver but the family could not afford to send their son to school without aid. Because of your help, Sajad is in a good school this year. In all, through Global Giving microprojects we were able to provide 41 scholarships to students just like Sajad to study at private schools in Afghanistan this school year!
A staff person reported that, “the students who receive scholarships are all from poor families. Many have lost one or both parents and need to do some work part time to help their families. When they heard they had been given a scholarship they were so happy they became teary eyed. This is what one student said, “I have two sisters, my father is a drug addict and my mother goes to a neighbor to do washing and cleaning. I was not able to pay for tuition or stationary. Thank you for this great opportunity; it has changed my life.”
We’d like to thank you once again for supporting our efforts to provide a high quality education to as many students as possible.
Dear Friends,
Thank you for your generous support!! The school year is currently in session in Afghanistan, and Creating Hope International is working with our Afghan partners to select a deserving student to receive the scholarship you helped to fund for this school. We will update you as soon as we can with information about the student who receives this scholarship.
Again, thank you for your kind donation. This scholarship will allow one poor student to receive an education that they wouldn’t otherwise have access to. Your donation will help to change the course of one young Afghan’s life.
Thank you.
