Thank you so much for allowing us to provide a classroom for Ira!
Ira is eleven years old and she lives with her grandparents and four cousins in the community of Pitogo, which is not far from Tacloban. Ira dreams of becoming a nurse when she’s older.
But Ira’s classroom was badly damaged by typhoon Haiyan and her education has been suffering ever since.
Without an education, Ira’s future looked bleak. Without basic literacy and numeracy, her dreams would have been forgotten and she would almost certainly have been doomed to a life of poverty.
But Ira is lucky - she has you in her life.
Your fantastic generosity means that we’ll be able to repair and refurbish Ira’s classroom and give her back the education she needs to fulfil her dreams.
We’ll be able to support Ira because you chose to give. There are so many things you could have spent your hard earned money on, but you chose Ira. Thanks so much.
We’ll send you updates about how your gift is changing Ira’s life right here on GlobalGiving. Should you have any questions about how we’re using your donation, please don’t hesitate to email Andy@IDVolunteers.org. We’d love to hear from you!
Our warmest regards from Tacloban.
