With schools in Bolivia closed indefinitely due to COVID-19, the children need tablets (approx. $200 USD each) to access online learning materials so that they do not fall behind in their education. Help us provide one tablet per family (34 families) so that the children can stay connected with their teachers, their support educators, their psychologist, and their friends.
The children enrolled in our education and nutrition support programs are quarantined indefinitely at home due to COVID-19. Only a few families have a smartphone, so the children are not able to access the education and psychological support provided by the educators and staff psychologist at the Tahuantinsuyo Community Centre, nor the online learning to be provided by their schools. These children are especially vulnerable, and many have learning disabilities and psychological stress.
By providing each family with a tablet, we will be providing badly needed access to online learning and psychological support for the children and their families.
By providing access to online learning, we are ensuring that the children can stay connected with their educators, and can keep up with assignments and learning in general. By staying connected and engaged, we hope to reduce the risk of potential student drop out, and the risk of falling far behind their academic potential. Further, we will help their well being by providing continued access to the psychological support so many of them need.
