With schools in Bolivia closed indefinitely due to COVID-19, and the children in strict lockdown since March, the families enrolled in the programs at the Tahuantinsuyo Community Centre need tablets to access online learning materials and psychological support. So far we have raised funds to buy tablets for 20 families out of 34. Help us provide one tablet per family for the remainder, so that the children can stay connected & engaged with their educators, their psychologist, & their friends.
The children enrolled in our education and nutrition support programs are quarantined indefinitely at home due to COVID-19. Fewer than half of the 34 families (60 children) had access to the Internet prior to the lockdown. With our education and psychological support programs moving online, it is crucial that all children have access to the internet and the support they need.
By providing each family with a tablet, we will be providing badly needed access to online learning and psychological support for the children and their families. To date we have provided 20 tablets. We still need to provide 14 more.
By providing access to online education and support, we are ensuring that the children stay connected with their educators and can keep up with assignments and learning in general. By staying connected and engaged, we hope to reduce the risk of potential student drop out, and the risk of falling far behind their academic potential. Further, we will help their well being by providing continued access to their psychologist.
