Molweni!
Thanks so much for supporting this project! Your donations contributed to us raising over 60% of our target which assisted to give a much needed boost to the school! However as our total target for Protea this year is £2000 we still have a long way to go and would call on all of you to spread the word as it is still possible to lend your support to this initiative…! Be sure to make a visit to the official website of the charity: http://www.maranathacarechildren.com
One of the biggest challenges they is that every learner who enters the school must be issued with new stationary and books. There is a shortage on handbooks for learners as before we started this initiative there was only 1 book per grade per language per class! In a school of 60 children with three home languages spoken and taught this is a challenge even for the most resourceful teaching staff!
So what we can report positively is that the funds raised from this project were all directed to ensure the Grade 4 & 5 Xhosa class was supplied with the books they need to fulfil the standards set by the new curriculum! What a tremendous boost and testament to how a little can really go such a long way!
THANK YOU for all of those who got behind this micro-project! Ndiyabulela kakhulu!
