Scott went trekking in Nepal recently. He was having a great time. He crossed the path of one man several times and they ended up trekking together. One night at a tea house the man made a pass at Scott and told him he wasn't interested in sex. The man pulled a knife on Scott and raped him. We have been providing services to Scott for a couple of months. Scott needs additional counseling to help him recover from the sexual assault.
Men sexually assaulted overseas when they identify with the LGBTQ community often have a very difficult time. They are ashamed and are uncertain of the resources available to them. Scott was in the middle of nowhere trekking in Nepal. He didn't even have phone service. Scott needs additional counseling to help him overcome the trauma of the sexual assault.
We believe that with additional counseling, Scott will be able to recover from the sexual assault.
