More Than Me Girls' Academy Computer Lab!

A microproject by More Than Me Project of the Month

Our girls are going to receive the best education out there - and a big part of that is technology! This computer lab will allow our girls to build computer literacy - opening the doors to some incredible opportunities for them both now and in the future -and they'll even be able to skype with you! Give now and make this happen!

Right now, our girls do not have the technical training and access to resources that computers and internet offer. Computers are expensive, electricity is expensive, and internet is inconsistent. Without these resources, children are limited in their growth and opportunities for university training and career future.

This computer lab will not only equip our girls with tangible skills, but will give them the opportunity to explore the world of education and interest that allows us to be so connected today! We're crafting this program as a part of our vision to begin to engage universities around the globe and make it possible for our girls to go to college - something that some of them have never even considered possible.

Long-Term Impact

Educating one girl can change everything. Here's why: When a girl in the developing world receives seven or more years of education, she marries 4 years later and has 2.2 fewer children. An extra year of primary school boosts girls' eventual wages by 10 to 20%. An extra year of secondary school: 15 to 25%. When women and girls earn income, they reinvest 90% of it into their families. When we invest in girls we all win. This academy will effect over 500 girls directly and 1,000's more indirectly.
