Sarah is a hard-working businesswoman who retails items like coal, sugar, and flour. Over the past year, she has proven herself faithful in making payments on her first microfinance loan. Sarah would like to expand her business and has approached us for additional assistance. With these funds, she hopes to go to Guinea, a neighboring country, to buy additional products - that she can retail at a higher profit. This will help her take care of her family and possibly move to a nicer apartment.
Sarah is a successful small businesswoman. However, she does not have collateral needed to secure a loan from the bank. This project will help solve that by providing the microfinance funds that she needs to expand her business. Sarah was one of the beneficiaries visited by Alix (GlobalGiving's Field Traveler in West Africa) during a field trip in March 2017. Alix visited Sarah's cramped home from where she conducts her business.
Project funds will give Sarah's business a boost by covering the purchase cost of additional business products - food items, clothes, jewelry etc. She will finally be able to fulfill her dream of expanding her business. These funds will strengthen the family's financial base and set them well on the path toward self-sufficiency.
This project will give Sarah's business a new boost of life. Potentially, her business will continue to grow and she could employ additional people.
