Challenge

Indigenous women artisans in Chiapas and Yucatan face limited access to global markets, low incomes, and undervaluation of their ancestral knowledge. Despite their creativity and skill, they struggle to compete in the fashion industry due to lack of exposure, professional networks, and sustainable marketing tools. This project addresses these barriers by connecting them with ethical buyers, fostering innovation, and enhancing their visibility in international events.

Solution

The project will provide access to global fashion platforms, where artisans will showcase their work and connect with ethical buyers. It will also support training in design and textile innovation, the creation of new product lines, and the development of sustainable marketing strategies. These actions will increase sales, visibility, and long-term income, empowering artisans and preserving their cultural heritage.

Long-Term Impact

This project will strengthen the economic autonomy of 750 Mayan women by positioning them as creators and entrepreneurs in the global fashion market. It will create lasting income opportunities, foster intergenerational knowledge transfer, and preserve ancestral textile techniques. By connecting artisans with ethical buyers and international networks, the project will ensure sustainable growth and cultural resilience for future generations.
