A new school year is about to start in Argentina, and the economic situation makes it harder every year to face education expenses. At Mensajeros de la Paz, we believe it is crucial to respect childrens rights and make sure they receive a proper education. In our Educational Program, where we provide school support for vulnerable children, more than 300 kids still dont have access to digital resources. In an effort to reduce the digital gap, we want to buy 20 tablets to provide ICT courses.
Due to the infantilization of poverty, the number of kids who are unable to get a proper education increases exponentially each year, placing them in a socially vulnerable situation. Even if some children are able to get enrolled in school, the lack of resources such as school materials, stationery supplies, and electronic devices, may be an obstacle to learning. The Pandemic has given us the perfect example of the importance of digital resources to reach equal opportunities.
Mensajeros de la Paz has 8 different Educational Centers that provide school support for more than 300 children between the ages of 5 and 13 who live in low-resource neighborhoods in the Province and City of Buenos Aires. In these Centers, children also receive food and other school supplies during the year. With this microproject, we will be able to buy 20 digital tablets for the kids, to provide ICT courses for the kids in the future.
By empowering over 300 children with education, we strengthen their resilience to life challenges, opening doors of opportunities for their future, improving their confidence, and inspiring hope. Improved education opportunities will ensure a better future for these children and subsequent generations. Providing these kids with the necessary tools is key to facilitating the process of learning and creating opportunities.
