The school library at the Live and Learn in Kenya Education Center needs books to offer the needy children a real chance for a great education. Donations for books and computers are desperately needed.
We have built a good-sized library at the Live and Learn in Kenya Education Center in the Barut slums of Nakuru, Kenya. There are still so many bookshelves that are empty. We are planning a computer lab so that the children and youths will have a real headstart in their business and career lives. Having access to all possible learning materials is the only way to be able to give them all that they need to be all that they can be! Every Friday is READ ALOUD DAY at our library.
In nearly 20 years of work in Nakuru, we have provided hundreds of children with education, vocational training, nutritious food, foster care for (mostly AIDS) orphans, medical/dental care. Most of the children who have finished their education through LLK now have jobs or are attending universities. Having our own school we can provide high-quality education so that even the poorest of the poor have an equal chance to be all that they can be in life. This will change generations of lives.
