With the Kenya Conference about to begin, Virtues Project Kenya Project Leaders, Rod and Patricia Crossley, have begun welcoming facilitators from around the world. Activities planned for before the conference are underway including school and community visits where Virtues Project Master Facilitator and Ventriloquist, Val Hilliker, is performing lively puppet shows bringing out the virtues in the children and teaching them anti-bullying skills. A teacher at the Mwiyenga Primary School shared that since becoming a virtues school she has become a more loving teacher, truancy no longer exists, student scores have dramatically improved, and parents are showing their appreciation and support.
The Integrity through Virtues Conference will raise the awareness of the Power of Virtues for communities, families and work places. The formal conference will have four sessions: 1) for parents: raising children with integrity 2) for educators: inculcating integrity in students 3) for corporations: integrity in business 4) for medical personnel: treating patients with integrity and compassion.
Thanks to your generosity, virtues cards and books have been delivered to Virtues Project Kenya by Virtues Project International Association and are already being shared with local facilitators, schools, and programs using The Virtues Project. Additional money raised through Bringing The Virtues Project to the World, our parent project on GlobalGiving, has been delivered to Virtues Project Kenya to make it possible for local facilitators, who would otherwise not have the financial means to participate, to take part in the Integrity Conference and the Global Mentorship for The Virtues Project. Watch for another report coming soon after the Conference!
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
