Corruption is endemic and deeply rooted in the culture of Kenya, filtering down from politicians and civil servants who steal millions to the traffic policeman who has a quota of bribes to fill to take to his boss, to the ordinary person who needs to retrieve his file at a government office. A group of Kenyans concerned with character education and the promotion of integrity through virtues has proposed a conference to target teachers, community leaders, parents and business/ professionals.
This conference will raise the awareness of the power of Virtues for communities, families and work places. The formal conference will have four sessions: 1) for parents: raising children with integrity 2) for educators: inculcating integrity in students 3) for corporations: integrity in business 4) for medical personnel: treating patients with integrity and compassion
Teaching the Five Strategies of The Virtues Project to parents, educators, community leaders and social service providers, begins community-wide tranformation of the culture.
The culture of a family, school or entire community can be transformed to produce a peaceful, cooperative and caring population as the Five Strategies of The Virtues Project are infused in daily activities.
