Thanks so much for helping to provide a year* of school for Novelie.
Novelie is six and after her mom died she was left in the care of a young aunt. Novelie's aunt couldn't afford to care for her and so she brought her to the HTDC orphanage. Novelie’s aunt was heartbroken to give her up, but she was almost a child herself.
Novelie’s aunt hoped the orphanage could care for her. But with so many basic needs, like food, to worry about, the orphanage couldn’t afford to send Novelie to school.
Without an education, Novelie’s future looked bleak. Without basic literacy and numeracy, she would almost certainly have been doomed to a life of poverty.
But Novelie is lucky - she has you in her life.
Your fantastic generosity means that we’ll be able to keep Novelie in school and learning the skills she needs to build a brighter tomorrow. Novelie’s been doing really well in school, but if she needs extra help we’ll be there to get her the tutoring she needs.
We’ll be able to support Novelie because you chose to give. There are so many things you could have spent your hard earned money on, but you chose Novelie. Thanks so much.
We’ll keep updating you about Novelie and all her classmates through this project’s parent page, Provide a Safe Home for Haitian Orphans. If you ever have any questions about how we're using your donation, please email Andy@IDVolunteers.org. We’d love to hear from you!
Thanks again, and very kind regards!
*Donations to this project will cover Novelie’s school costs over a year, but will be spent on all the children in parallel as we fundraise for each in turn.
