This project will provide a full year of education for 14 year old Mudoleine. Mudoleine arrived at the HTDC orphanage in 2010 with her two brothers. Her dad made the heart breaking decision to leave Mudoleine at the orphanage after his wife died in the earthquake, leaving him with eight children he couldn't afford to care for. Mudoleine is a bright, cuddly child who loves to play with her brothers. With your help, we'll provide her with the education she needs to build a more secure future.
As an orphan, Mudoleine is among the most vulnerable of Haitian children. There are very few free schools available in Port-au-Prince, so the orphanage must pay for the kids in its care to attend school. Lack of education locks kids like Mudoleine into a cycle of poverty. Ensuring access to school not only helps Mudoleine, but strengthens Haitian communities in the long-term.
Mudoleine has lived her whole life in poverty. She needs a quality education to find a prosperous future. Your donations will give her that education and set her on the road to a brighter tomorrow. Note that the orphanage is home to around thirty children. Donations to this project will cover Mudoleine's school costs over a year, but will be spent on all the children in parallel as we fundraise for each in turn.
Access to education will give Mudoleine the skills she needs to find a stable job and escape poverty when she's older.
