This project will provide a year of English Education for Fabiola. Fabiola is new to the English in Mind (EIM) Institute, and she's sometimes a little shy, but her attendance and eagerness to learn English is impressive. Fabiola will use her language skills to find dignified, living wage employment - but she can't afford to pay for her own school. That's why she needs donors like you!
More than two thirds of Haitian adults lack formal employment and more than 50% of the population lives on less than $2 a day. Despite high unemployment, there is actually a shortage of skilled labour in Port au Prince. English speakers can find work in hotels, restaurants, and offices, yet there are virtually no free English schools. Most Haitians, including Fabiola, cannot afford to attend these schools. Without the means to develop their skills, many are left trapped in poverty.
By ensuring that Fabiola can continue studying English for free at the English in Mind Institute, you can help her develop the skills she needs to find gainful employment.
Your donations will give Fabiola the means to support herself and her family into the future. This will let her escape poverty for good.
