Intersectoral roundtable in San Juan Cancuc
Intersectoral roundtable in San Juan Cancuc

Dear allies,

The reason for this email is to thank you for your support of our Women's Empowerment campaign on the GlobalGiving platform. The project closed this May and although we did not reach the goal of 10k USD, your support has been essential to maintain our team and continue operating even in times of COVID.

Here part of the activities carried out thanks to your contribution:

Intersectoral tables: during this period, four table sessions have been done on where different points have been proposed. The main one in the year is how organizations and educational institutions were affected by Covid-19. Like a last meeting, they talked about how organizations will return to educational institutions with a security protocol that integrates staff and the community population.

We continue to strengthen indigenous young women so that their decisions are taken into account within their families and communities through awareness workshops at a rate of two per week.

• With the support of the educational centers CECyTe 05, COBACH 212 and COBACH 175 located in the Highlands of Chiapas, we organized 24 working groups with about 250 adolescents and indigenous women. In parallel, artistic awareness content made by young people was worked on.

• An important achievement, for the next intersectoral roundtables in the Highlands of Chiapas, a space has been dedicated to the women we are empowering to express their concerns and proposals for community life with a special focus on the COVID emergency.

Thanks in large part to your support, we have been able to achieve these results and we will continue working so that indigenous youth can freely exercise their rights.

In the name of all CH´ieltik, THANK YOU
