Challenge

1. Holiday Hunger Among Immigrant Families: Many documented immigrants face financial hardship, especially during the holidays when costs rise and expectations for celebration grow. This project ensures they don't go without food during a season of abundance. 2. Social Isolation and Exclusion: Immigrant families may feel disconnected from their communities during the holidays. Providing food baskets helps them feel included and supported.

Solution

This microproject aims to provide direct, tangible support to immigrant families during a time of increased need and emotional vulnerability. LAMP will assemble and deliver culturally appropriate food baskets to 50 documented immigrant families, ensuring they have enough to eat and can celebrate the season with dignity.By focusing on documented immigrants who often experience economic hardship and limited access to assistance, this initiative addresses a critical gap in holiday support services.

Long-Term Impact

Improved Health and Well-Being Regular access to nutritious food and hygiene items reduces chronic stress, malnutrition, and preventable illness. Families experience greater physical and emotional stability, allowing them to focus on work, education, and integration. Household Stability and Economic Mobility By offsetting basic living costs, families can redirect limited income toward rent, transportation, legal fees, or savings. This support helps prevent housing insecurity.
