Thank you very much for your support, which has improved the education that children are receiving in schools around Cape Town! Your help went towards ORT SA CAPE's programmes, which enable teachers to deliver a better-quality education to the children in their classrooms.
Bev, from ORT SA CAPE, said:
"We are committed to supporting the education sector. Our mission is simple yet profound: to equip teachers with the tools and training they need to inspire the next generation. This allows them not only to thrive but also to instil resilience and creativity in their [pupils]."
ORT SA CAPE has developed kits for the classroom to make coding fun and accessible for young children in the classroom.
Bev explained:
"... In a world that's constantly changing, the ability to adapt and tackle challenges head-on has never been more crucial... We were excited to launch our very own ''Unplugged Coding'' solution, The Dory Code. We have developed teacher and classroom kits as well as training on this important topic for educators. The Dory Code turns teaching into an adventure. With Dory the Dragon, coding is accessible and fun, helping educators bring it to life. The Dory Code provides engaging training and resources to support and inspire teachers. With coding continuing to be a national priority in education, The Dory Code will remain one of our core projects, as we work to reach and empower more educators across South Africa."
There were recently two Unplugged Coding workshops, as well as a workshop on Purposeful Play, which CHW's supporters helped towards. Lego resources were also given to the teachers following the Purposeful Play workshop.
Bev thanked all who contributed to these projects through CHW, "for the continued support of our various programmes. Your belief in our mission allows us to provide essential resources, training, and support to the education sector. Your contributions are not just financial; they are investments in potential, hope, and change."
Thank you very much for your amazing support. The gift of a good education is truly life-changing for a child!
