As part of our Rural Education Support program, which we have been carrying out in Santiago del Estero since 2011, we seek to improve the infrastructure of Taco Isla's rural school to ensure 75 children study in a suitable place. Our goal is to improve the condition of the classroom's walls and ceilings, renovate the bathrooms and ensure the supply of drinking water.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, March 2020, 75 children of taco Isla's rural primary school have only completed one month of face-to-face classes. In august 2021 they returned to their classrooms, but the deficient school infrastructure does not ensure basic conditions for students and teachers: limited access to tap water, poor condition of the walls, ceilings, and bathrooms, among others.
Through this project, Fundacion San Genaro will renew classrooms and bathrooms and will improve the rainwater collection system to ensure the supply of clear water. Also, as part of the Rural Education Support program, the Foundation will provide school equipment and students supplies, as well as water purifiers to rural families.
Fundacion San Genaro has been developing this project since 2011, helping more than 45 rural communities, over 3000 rural children and 500 families, improving not only access to basic services, but also providing the tools to improve the educational offer, and quality of the rural schools in Santiago del Estero.
