Hi my name is Lansana Mansaray, commonly called Barmmy Boy. (video message here: https://vimeo.com/798921141) I'm one of the founders at WeOwnTV Freetown Media Center, and I'm a filmmaker based in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Over the years, we were privileged to work with our dear late friend, colleague and brother, Idris Kpange. Idris Kpange was a very gifted filmmaker. His dream was to empower young storytellers, Sierra Leonean filmmakers, to be able to use the requisite tools to be able to tell their own stories themselves. As friends and colleagues, we want to make sure we keep this dream alive and maintain his legacy. Through WeOwnTV, we set up the Idris Kpange fellowship to support open common storytellers and filmmakers allowing Sierra Leoneans that will be in the position, in the place to tell our own stories from a Sierra Leonean perspective or from an African perspective. There are so many beautiful images about this country that the world has never seen.

Please support this effort by donating any little you have to keep this dream alive on this one year anniversary of his passing.

Thank you very much.

Thank you all so much for your support of the Idriss Kpange Filmmaker Fellowship!

We are pleased to report that during this short campaign, we were able to raise $2,662 towards our $10,000 goal. It is the end of our 90-day microproject fundraiser, but we wanted to let you all know that we will be continuing our fundraising effort on this new permanent page: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/weowntv-filmmaker-fellowship/

We are also happy to report that we also recently received a grant from the International Documentary Association which will help in our capacity to deliver the best quality experience and individualized support to our future fellows.

We will be participating in GivingTuesday on November 29th. GlobalGiving will be offering a $1,200,000 Incentive Fund that will be distributed to participants like us! So please share this new page with friends and family to help us support young African filmmakers and also keep Idris's memory alive: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/weowntv-filmmaker-fellowship/

with Gratitude,

Banker, Sabrina, and Barmmy
