In Dec 2023, the World Food Programme in suspended food aid distribution to about 9.5 million, exacerbating an already dire situation. This project will provide enough food to sustain a family of 6 through the Holy month of Ramadan. Hunger in Yemen Yemen faces a catastrophic humanitarian crisis, with over 20 million people in need of urgent humanitarian assistance and more than half of the population confronting severe food shortages. Over 2.3 million children under five suffer from acute malnutrition. In the Midst of these crisis, the World Food Programme (WFP) in December 2023 suspended food aid distribution to about 9.5 million, exacerbating an already dire situation.
Your Impact on Families 100% of your donation will be used to support the families. Each family will receive a food basket that sustains a family of 6 during the holy month of Ramadan. Each basket cost $60 that includes the cost of the food and transportation to the hard-to-reach areas. The basket contains: 25 kilograms of flour 10 kilograms rice 5 kilograms sugar 4 liters oil 12 cans of beans 1 kilograms powdered milk 1 kilogram dates.
Our services provide families in need with life saving services. Food baskets reduce the risk of malnutrition; water filters protect against diarrheal diseases including cholera; school support equips children in Yemen with the skills they need to make a better future for themselves and to rebuild their country when peace returns. We recognize that our work is necessary because of the particular conditions that have impacted the country and is not a substitute for a just and lasting peace.
