Thank you very much for all your support and help for our End of Year Project. We are surprised by how many people responded and helped out. Yes, we have not reached the complete goal - but thanks to your help we are able to cover half of the costs for our extra housing related costs - that means that almost six months are covered! Big step forward for us.
Maybe you have seen it in the Media in the last days, it was covered here in Thailand and also in the UK. One of the bargirls that came to our English Class was killed last Saturday by a customer. It is shocking news and I will spare you the details, but our Staff had to identify here because the only thing they found with her was a card from our English Class. Through this we are in contact with her and could offer her sixteen-year-old sister, who also works in the sexindustry, a safe place to stay. She has not decided yet if she wants to do it, she left this Monday for the funeral of her sister, but we hope that she will decide to stop the work. Sexwork is dangerous and many of the women do not realize the dangers that they are getting themselves in. The man who did it, was a convicted rapist from the UK who had just been released from prison. He came to Thailand to start a new life...
Through your help we can offer a safe place for women that want to come out of the industry. Today we had nine new women show up for our English Classes. Many of them are scarred right now and we hope that some will leave the bars behind.
Thank you for your help, for your support and for making it possible that we can help the women. Only together can we offer hope - one woman at the time.
With Gratitude
