Thanks so much for providing hot meals for Drissa during floods.
Fifty seven year old Drissa lives with his wife Lorna in the community of Banaba, just outside Manila. Drissa’s house is partly made from bricks but it's poorly constructed, and dangerously close to a river. Every year there are floods, and Drissa’s house is often inundated.
During floods Drissa and Lorna have to spend days sleeping on the floor of an evacuation centre. This is a traumatic experience already and it’s made worse as Drissa’s family often have to go hungry as well.
But now, because of your generosity, we’ll be able to provide hot food for Drissa and Lorna during evacuations. Hot meals will be delivered when the next flood comes and forces Drissa and his family to leave their home. Evacuation will never be easy for Drissa, but your generosity means that he and Lorna won’t go hungry.
We’ll send you updates about how your gift is changing the lives of Drissa, his family, and families like them right here on GlobalGiving. Should you ever have any questions about how we’re using your donation, please don’t hesitate to email Andy@IDVolunteers.org. We’d love to hear from you!
One last time, thanks so much for ensuring that Drissa and his family can enjoy hot meals during floods.
