Escaping a foreign country to flee abuse is very difficult. With covid that undertaking has becom especially challenging for American women desperate to come home with their children.
Because of your donation we were able to help Madeline come home with James despite the tremendous obstacles. They were living in Peru where Madeline's husband was working as a software engineer. With the borders closed, Madeline was terrified she would never make it home safely.
One of our advocates worked with Madeline via email to help her safety plan her escape. It took quite a long time. Madeline is home now with James. Here is a note from Madeline.
"Whoever helped me, thank you. I wasnt sure for a while if I would make it out of Peru alive. I'm so grateful."
