Dear supporters,
College Les Sophos d’ Haiti opened in October at a new location. The students, principal and Home Roots are very appreciative of the support you have provided. Grades currently range from kindergarten to 11 but we will add 12 and 13 soon in due time. We have new uniform colors and hope to get all students into uniform soon. Unfortunately, it was not until late September that we where able to secure a new space so many of our old students did not register with us, but we expect some to return at some point this year or next. Many of them will struggle to pay the tuition at their new school and could be asked to stay home. Any school affiliated with Home Roots are instructed not to send students home for inability to pay. Of course, the teachers and staff must be paid, we are looking at various ways to raise money and maintain operations.
It is challenging for a small nonprofit like Home Roots Foundation to assist two schools. But we are committed and focused on improving the lives of the students and parents. Your contributions made opening at this new location possible and gave hope to students and adults alike.
Sincerely,
Joseph Paul
