Thank you to all who gave towards the rebuilding of Kilembe Mines Hospital! Surely, the destruction of this hospital has hurt so many - the nurses who lost their homes and belongings, the patients who lost a place to go for surgery/care, and the community who lost their hospitals. But, things were picking up and work started as soon as the doctors and nurses could get in there.
Sadly, just last week, with no rain near the hospital, the rivers overflowed due to torrential rains in another part of the country and flood waters hit again. This time, unlike the last big flood, two patients died (an elderly woman and a baby), as there was no warning. These flash floods are not common and the hospital has never been damaged by floods in the past. Yet, twice this year, they've been hit hard.
We will continue to support Kilembe Mines Hospital and pray for all the patients and for the victims.
Thank YOU for caring!
