We're raising 2,500 to cover essential tax and parking permits for the Food Bus and Food Float, so we can continue to bring affordable, fresh produce to the communities that need it most. These unavoidable operational costs threaten to pull funding away from our core mission: tackling food insecurity and supporting those most in need. Your support will help keep our mobile greengrocers on the road and ensure every penny continues going back into the communities we serve.
Many South London neighbourhoods have little or no access to affordable, fresh, healthy food, and over 14 million people in the UK face food insecurity. Our Food Bus and Food Float reach areas of high deprivation, serving hundreds of customers each week. We urgently need to cover parking permit costs to keep our services on the road and avoid disruption so we can continue doing what we do best: bringing healthy food into the heart of communities.
By helping us raise 2,500 for tax and parking permits, you'll ensure our Food Bus and Float can continue operating, without disruption. Last year alone, the Food Bus made 160 stops across South London and reached 2,395 customers, offering fruit, vegetables and pantry staples at prices up to 25% cheaper than mainstream supermarkets. Your support means we can stay parked legally, avoid fines, and keep food moving to where it's needed most.
Unexpected costs like parking permits can quietly eat into the funds we need to properly run our services and maintain our vehicles. Your support keeps us moving forward and ensures we can focus on what matters: getting fresh, healthy food to communities every week. Without needing to divert core funding, we can continue to grow our network of stops, support more families in the cost-of-living crisis, builing healthier, better connected and more resilient communities.
