A Vision for Eyes of Africa through the PlusOptiX Sight Screening Device

Eyes of Africa at a local Sight Screening
Eyes of Africa at a local Sight Screening

The primary objective of this project was to acquire the PlusOptiX Sight Screening Device, a state-of-the-art tool for comprehensive and efficient vision screening. Currently, Eyes of Africa incurs expenses by renting the device and paying per child screened. By purchasing the device, we aim to eliminate these ongoing costs, allowing us to conduct sight screenings for children anytime and anywhere, thereby enhancing our impact on the future generations of Africa.

  • Current Situation:
    • Eyes of Africa currently rents the PlusOptiX Sight Screening Device and pays per child screened, resulting in recurring expenses.
    • Limited financial resources restrict the frequency and reach of our sight screening programs.
  • Rationale for Purchase:
    • Acquisition of the PlusOptiX device will be a strategic and sustainable investment for Eyes of Africa.
    • The device will enable us to conduct unlimited screenings at no additional cost, breaking down financial barriers and expanding our reach.
  • Financial Status:
    • Ongoing fundraising efforts are in progress to secure the remaining funds required for the acquisition.
  • Impact on Educational System:
    • Improved vision among students contributes to enhanced learning experiences and academic performance.
    • Early detection of vision issues prevents potential learning obstacles and fosters a conducive educational environment.
  • Future Fundraising Initiatives:
    • Eyes of Africa remains committed to raising additional funds to meet the device's full cost.
    • Future fundraising activities will be organized, including awareness campaigns, community events, and collaboration with potential donors and sponsors.

The acquisition of the PlusOptiX Sight Screening Device represents a pivotal moment for Eyes of Africa and the future generations it serves. The transition from renting to ownership will empower us to conduct sight screenings without financial constraints, ensuring that every child has access to essential eye care services.

Your support and contributions are crucial to making this vision a reality. Together, we can create a lasting impact on the visual health and educational success of the children of Africa.
