AGTR has been working for the well-being of girls and domestic workers for 34 years, being a reference for domestic workers and the State in Peru. We are going through an economic crisis. This project will allow AGTR to make an urgent move to an economically accessible location. In this new place AGTR will train 600 women to develop their work and personal skills, improve their living conditions and obtain written contracts with social benefits. We will also provide emotional and legal advice.
AGTR is in need of moving to a new, more financially sustainable space. AGTR does not have the funds necessary to make this move. This mini project will allow us to have a meeting place for domestic workers so that they can receive emotional, legal and job training, art therapy, as well as specialized workshops. We will train 600 domestic workers and they will be able to find a job with social benefits and a written contract, where rights and duties go hand in hand.
This project will help us continue our work. AGTR provides job training workshops, in which women improve their legal knowledge, obtain jobs with labor rights recognized through written contracts, and increase their self-esteem. Also will receive individual sessions that help understand their social benefit calculations. Plus additional individual sessions offer advice and emotional guidance adapted to the needs of each worker, reinforcing skills for work and personal relationships.
The project will allow AGTR to continue serving girls and domestic workers in a safe space. AGTR will train 600 domestic workers, allowing them to improve their living conditions, which guarantees the health and well-being of them and their families, economically impacting the benefited communities. The skills acquired by the beneficiaries will increase their salaries and being able to exercise their rights and emotional counseling will improve their self-esteem.
