Hogar San Jose is a Residential Home for 50 elderly people. It is a project that has been activated on GlobalGiving for the last 3 years (now called Abandoned elderly adults to fight against Coronavirus). Last week a tree fell and destroyed part of the roof of the building. In this micro project, we seek your help to repair the damage caused by the fallen tree.
A few days ago the fall of a tree destroyed part of the building of the house. The project provides 24-hour care to 50 elderly people and this situation caused severe damage to the facilities. Fortunately, the residents are fine, as well as the team of Mensajeros de la Paz but, taking into account the care provided and the low temperatures, it is of utmost urgency to start the repairs in order to continue caring for the elderly people who live there.
Repairs need to be made immediately to ensure that the home is once again a safe and warm haven for the elderly in need, as it has historically been for the community. For that, we need to raise US$10,000 to rebuild the roof. As part of the repairs we must: - Remove the fallen tree, which due to its size is still on the roof of the house - Repair the plumbing (some bathrooms are affected) and the gas system pipes. - Repair the roof and walls. - Replace the furniture lost
