Last year Snehalaya's children visited Father Christmas in his grotto. He was so happy to meet our children that this year he asked them to write him a letter to tell him what gifts they would like this year. Each of our 12 dormitories have decided upon a gift they would like. Now Santa needs your help to get the presents they asked for and make their wishes come true. We are collecting for: Indoor & outdoor games, wall & alarm clocks, bikes, skates & watches. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
Many of our 260 children living at our Rehabilitation Center are orphans, semi-orphans, HIV+ or victims of abuse. Our 'Home of Love' not only provides them with shelter, education, health and emotional support we also strive to provide a happy family environment. As the festive season is a time for families we want our children to experience the magic of Christmas with a visit from Santa.
Our children have very few personal belongings and they are very generous with sharing those that they do have. As they have been so good this year, Santa has asked the children to write to him to tell him what they would like for Christmas. We are asking our local supporters to donate items but we know we will also need some money to buy some of the gifts asked for. Our children's requests have been very humble and we really want to fulfill their wishes.
Snehalaya enables our children to become agents for social change, breaking the crippling cycles of poverty in India for themselves. We provide emergency rescue and rehabilitative care for sex workers, often minors themselves, and their children. We want our children to feel valued and loved and a traditional Christmas with a visit and gifts from Santa will have a lasting impact on their self-esteem.
