We are living in a digital World and the use of internet has now become part of our life. Internet helps people to learn virtually, connect to each other via email and or through WhatsApp and Facebook.
While internet is very important in our modern days, it is a different story for children and many other people in the remote part of Zambia and Solwezi is not exceptional.
Charity Centre for Children and Youth Development has been offering virtual learning programs in partnership with other organizations based outside Zambia. However, this virtual learning doesn't take place at school due to lack of internet connection. It is because of this reason that our organization started fundraising for radio internet connection at our school in Solwezi District of Zambia. Though the project didn't receive much donation to enable us complete the project through GlobalGiving, we finally managed to connect internet using our own resources and administrative costs from other partners.
It is our desire that the project shall bring the much needed results to support orphans and vulnerable children with access to education by using the technology and connect with their peers around the world.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you can receive an email when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports without donating.
