With the Shields' home almost complete, one of the final pieces is installing the solar panels. The solar panel installation is a great opportunity to bring together Native Americans from different tribes for a training demonstration. This training will help develop green job skills that can lead to new ventures to stimulate local economies for Tribal communities.
Trees, Water & People will be hosting a solar panel installation demonstration From June 20th-23rd. The Shields’ house will be fitted with solar panels that have been donated to with the help of Johnny Weiss of Solar Energy International. The panels, the racking for the house, and the solar inverter were all donated. So far we have 5 people signed up, but we are expecting 20 people to come for the installation.
On June 24th, we will be throwing an open house so friends, family, neighbors, and supporters can take a look at this CEB building and solar panels. The open house will also be a house-warming party for the Shields family; this is when we will hand over the keys and help them move into their new home. We are very excited for the Shields family to move in and we could not have done it without your help! Thank you for all of your wonderful support
