Ana moved to Brazil with her husband and daughter Olivia in 2013. Her husband is an important business man in a large corporation. He screams, throws things, threatens and earlier this month pushed Ana around, leaving bruises on her arms and back. Ana called us terrified, begging us to help her and Olivia get home to the USA. We are safety planning with Ana and hope to get her back to the USA with Olivia in January 2015. We need $950 to get Ana and Olivia back safety to the USA.
Ana is experiencing terrible abuse by her husband in Brazil. Olivia cries herself to sleep at night, afraid of her father, but more afraid of what might happen to her mother Ana. Luckily, Ana has access to her and Olivia's American passports. Ana's husband will be leaving on a business trip in early January. That is when we will be able to get Ana and Olivia back home to the USA. We have been speaking to a shelter and they will make sure the have space available for Ana and Olivia.
Ana and Olivia will be able to get home safely to the USA and live their lives without violence. The most dangerous time for a domestic violence is when they are fleeing for safety. We have carefully safety planned so Ana and Olivia will not be in any harm.
Each year we provide battered American women and children with information and services necessary to enable them to live their lives without violence. Since 2001 we have helped over 3000 women plus their children free themselves from abuse.
