Muffin was hit by a car as a pup and has only one leg that works properly. Ray Charlie was born blind. Both have homes in the USA, now we need the funds to get them there.
Dharamsala Animal Rescue helps the streets dogs in India. We help those that have been hit by cars, are suffering disease, or have been abandoned. We are not a sanctuary. Instead, we work with the community to care for our stray animals to hopefully one day, have the whole town be a sanctuary for the animals. However, there are a few rescues that cannot live on the streets, and for these creatures, we need to find homes. It is extremely difficult to find dogs with disabilities homes in India.
We have had success finding loving homes for all of our dogs that are disabled in the USA and Canada. Both Muffin and Charlie, have found such homes. However, we now need the funds to get them there. It is costly to send a dog unaccompanied half way around the world. The funds for this project include: 12-hour taxi ride from Dharamsala to Delhi, vet paperwork, boarding in Delhi, flight booking, vaccinations, crate, microchipping, and all other items necessary.
As we are not a sanctuary, we have limited space for permanent residents at our shelter...and the goal is to find all of them amazing homes that they so deserve. By funding Muffin's and Charlie's transportation, we open up two spots at Dharamsala Animal Rescue for two more dogs in need of a home off the streets. And makes a dream come true for Muffin and Charlie.
