Mariatu is in class 3 and dreams of becoming a lawyer when she grows up. Mariatu lost both her parents to Ebola. She lives in the Dream Home Orphanage and this project will provide a full scholarship for Mariatu covering her tuition, books, school supplies and related school expenses this year.
Education is a major ongoing problem for many children in Sierra Leone due to the cost and the very limited funds that many families have available. According to the United Nations, 42% of African school children will drop out before the end of primary education. In Mariatu's case, she doesn't have any funds and is relying entirely on the Dream Home to have a chance at a future. This project will provide a full scholarship for Mariatu covering her tuition, books and school supplies.
Funds from this project will help Mariatu continue her education and eventually become a lawyer - her desired future profession. Your support will help provide what Mariatu needs to be successful in school this year and empower her to become a forward-thinking leader of Sierra Leone.
