Boys at Osupuko Primary School, in Kajiado West in Kenya often face the risk of dropping out of school and spending their childhood herding goats and cattle in the wilderness. This project will help provide funding for school fees, school supplies and uniform so Lifesong Kenya can keep 40 boys in school in 2025.
There are more than 100 boys at Osupuko Primary School who face the risk of dropping out of school due to lack of school fees, uniform and supplies. These boys face the risk of becoming goat and cattle herders who, due to lack of education, will continue harmful cultural practices that negatively affect and impact women, girls and children. This project will empower and equip 40 boys who will be used to reach out to other boys in the community as peer educators, mentors and champions.
Lifesong Kenya will provide school fees, school supplies, shoes and support that vulnerable and at-risk boys need to stay in school beyond Grade 3. Our team will use literacy campaign, soccer and mental well-being. The boys will be trained to share their learned knowledge with their peers and siblings.
The project will educate 40 boys allowing them to stay in school, which will provide protection, mental well-being and an opportunity to gain basic primary school education.
